Living Textiles Ecosystem: Report Published by Future Observatory

A report by Jane Scott that outlines the ecosystem that is emerging in the North East of England to support the use of waste as a resource for Living Textiles has been published by Future Observatory. The report is one outcome of a six-month Fellowship undertaken by Jane with the Future Observatory. The Living Textiles Ecosystem explores the design implications of a transition to local waste streams and by-products from industry. It specifically focuses on the resources and biofabrication techniques required to grow large-scale textile biohybrids such as BioKnit and the Living Room.
